Broadband
Latest news: Openreach have recently confirmed that they will be deploying fibre broadband to properties in and around Church Road. They state that work will start in January 2026 and is expected to take around six months, assuming no unexpected problems or difficulties.
This is very welcome news following the many years of pushing and failures of the multiple projects and initiatives to make this happen. This is a regular commercial deployment thought to have been facilitated by the developer-funded installation of fibre to new property development in Church Road.
Despite the official plan for work to start in January 2026, work has actually been underway in the road intermittently since July and it appears that the network part of the work might actually be complete or very close to it at the time of writing (October 2025). This gives rise to the hope it might be available sooner than the official dates we’re currently being given by Openreach.
